Kentucky man killed in crash after falling tree lands on his pickup truck

A Kentucky man died in a wreck after a tree fell onto his pickup truck, according to Kentucky State Police.

The crash happened around 1:14 p.m. Thursday on U.S. 60 near Fleming Fork in Carter County. KSP said 38-year-old Daniel Stone was driving a Chevrolet Silverado when a tree fell onto the truck.

Stone was ejected from the truck and declared dead on scene by the Carter County Coroner’s Office, according to KSP. He was the only occupant of the truck.

KSP is investigating the crash.

One of Stone’s children is raising money on a GoFundMe account for his funeral. The account has raised over $200 as of Friday morning, with hopes of collecting $3,500.

“Dad was an amazing man who tried to help as many people as he could,” said Mikaylah Stone, who is organizing the account. “He was a wonderful person and loved each and every one of you.”
