The body of a fisherman who had been missing on Laurel Lake since last weekend was found on Friday.

The body of John Myrick was recovered about 3:30 p.m., according to the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office.

Myrick, 26, was on a boat that capsized near the KY 312 dam off East City Dam Road in Laurel County about 12:15 p.m. Sunday.

Since then, multiple agencies had searched for him using techniques including “rope, K9s, divers, underwater cameras, and sonar equipment,” the London-Laurel Rescue Squad said in a social media post earlier in the week..
