Powerball jackpot hits $216M, and 2 Kentucky players hold big winning tickets
Monday night’s Powerball drawing led to two big Kentucky winners, and both tickets are unclaimed as of Tuesday morning.
A $1 million ticket was sold at a Kroger in Owensboro at 1670 Starlite Drive, and a $50,000 winning ticket was sold at Cox’s Smokers Outlet in Louisville, located at 9200 Westport Road, Kentucky Lottery said in a Tuesday release.
The winning numbers from the July 7 drawing are 33, 35, 58, 61, 69 and Powerball 25. The $1 million ticket did not match the Powerball, but matched five white ball numbers. The $50,000 winner matched the Powerball and four white ball numbers.
If you purchased a Powerball ticket at one of these locations, be sure to check your ticket. If you are one of the winners, sign the back of the ticket and keep it in a safe place, Kentucky Lottery advises.
Winners have 180 days from the date of the drawing to claim their prize. You can call 1-877-789-4532 to set up an appointment to claim their prize at Kentucky Lottery headquarters, located at 1011 W. Main St. in Louisville.
This isn’t the only recent big Powerball win for a Kentucky player. A ticket sold in London in the June 28 drawing also won $50,000. It was unclaimed as of June 30, the lottery said.
The next Powerball drawing is slated for Wednesday, July 9. The jackpot is up to an estimated $216 million.
