2 big winning lottery tickets sold in same KY city unclaimed. Check these numbers
Owensboro is on a Kentucky Lottery hot streak.
In a news release Friday, the agency announced the Aug. 7 Cash Ball 225 drawing produced a winning $225,000 ticket for the game’s top prize. It was sold at a convenience store there.
In addition, a $1 million Powerball ticket sold at an Owensboro Kroger remains unclaimed after its July 7 drawing, the agency’s release said. The Kentucky Lottery said the winning Powerball ticket sold at the Kroger on 1670 Starlite Drive.
In Powerball, players win the $1 million prize by matching five white balls in any order, but not the red Powerball, according to the game’s official prize chart. The player would need to beat the odds of 1 in 11,688,053.52 to do so, and it’s the second largest prize.
The results for the July 7 Powerball drawing were 33, 35, 58, 61, 69 and Powerball 25, according to the game’s website.
According to the Kentucky Lottery, the winning Powerball ticket remains unclaimed more than a month later. The winner has 180 days within the date of the drawing to claim their prize at Kentucky Lottery headquarters in downtown Louisville, so the clock is ticking. The agency’s headquarters are at 1011 West Main St.
The next Powerball drawing is Saturday, Aug. 9 at 11 p.m. EDT. The jackpot is at an estimated $482 million, with a cash option of $218.9 million.
The more recent winning Cash Ball 225 ticket was picked up by a lucky shopper at the QQ Food Mart at 4510 Highway 54 in Owensboro. It’s worth $225,000 and attached to odds of 1 to 1,309,000, according to the lottery.
The winning numbers for that game’s Aug. 7 drawing were 3, 25, 32, 34 and Cash Ball 25.
The Kentucky Lottery advises all winners to sign the back of their tickets, store them in a secure location and claim their prize within the required timeframe.
