Mama pup watched her babies get adopted. She’s ‘watching, waiting’ for her turn
A dog at a Kentucky shelter is helplessly hoping that she’ll be able to find a warm home after all her puppies were adopted.
The thing is, she’s been waiting far too long.
“Alice has been waiting over a year,” the Ashland Animal Rescue Fund said in a Sept. 10 Facebook post.
“When Alice first came to us, she was a young mama with a litter of puppies depending on her. She gave them everything and each pup found a family of their own. Now, Alice is still here.. watching, waiting, wondering when it will finally be her turn.”
The 3-year-old staffordshire bull terrier gave birth a couple weeks prior to her shelter intake in June 2024 and is an extremely affectionate people dog with traits that will make even the most cold hearted person go “aww.”
“Alice is the one who wiggles with joy when she sees her favorite volunteers, who makes everyone laugh with her zoomies, and who melts into you when she finally settles for cuddles,” the shelter said.
But unfortunately, those who pass by her kennel don’t witness these fuzzy attributes, so she still hasn’t found her forever connection.
“Every day she waits, she’s hoping for someone to see her, not for the breed label, not for her past.. but for the loving, loyal soul she truly is,” the shelter said.
