Winning Mega Millions ticket worth $2M sold by Central Kentucky retailer

One lucky Kentucky Lottery player will enter the new year as a millionaire.

That’s because a winning Mega Millions ticket worth $2 million was sold at a RaceTrac gas station location in Frankfort Friday. As of Monday morning, the prize remains unclaimed and the winner unknown, according to a Dec. 29 Kentucky Lottery news release.

Friday’s winning numbers were 9, 19, 31, 63, 64 and Mega Ball 7. While the Kentucky ticketholder has a $2 million prize waiting, the jackpot for Mega Millions currently sits at $138 million. To win the $2-million, second-place prize, your ticket must match the five white balls, but not the Mega Ball. The odds on the win are 1 in 12.6 million.

Winners have 180 days to claim their prizes, and Kentucky Lottery recommends they sign the backs of their winning ticket and keep it in a secure location. A prize of this size must be collected in person at lottery headquarters, 1011 W. Main St. in Louisville.

The next Mega Millions drawing will take place at 11 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 30.
