Kentucky school districts cancel classes after overnight snow. See latest closures
Fayette County Public Schools and other districts in Kentucky have canceled classes Tuesday, Dec. 2 for a snow day.
FCPS announced the closure early Tuesday on its website, saying it will be a traditional snow day for all students.
Some Lexington schools have opted for late openings, including Lexington Catholic High School, which will start its day at 9:40 a.m. Tuesda, and Lexington Christian Academy, which is opening one hour later than usual.
An overnight winter storm left a blanket of snow on the ground early Tuesday, along with slick roadways. The National Weather Service’s winter weather advisory remains in place for a number of Central Kentucky counties through 10 a.m.
Other Kentucky school districts, including Rowan, canceled in-person classes Monday night.
Madison, Scott, Jessamine, Clark, Woodford and Jefferson county school districts all canceled in-person classes Tuesday in favor of an NTI day, which means students are learning from home.

Here are some other school closings, according to WKYT.
The following schools districts and schools will have an NTI day Tuesday: Anderson, Bath, Boyle, Bracken, Breathitt, Burgin Independent, Casey, Danville Independent, Estill, Fleming, Franklin, Garrard, Lawrence, Lewis, Lincoln, Mason, Menifee, Montgomery, Morgan, Paris Independent, Rockcastle and Summit Christian Academy.
The following schools systems are closed: Bourbon, Harrison, Mercer, Nicholas, Powell and Wolfe counties.
