Fayette County, 7 other KY school systems cancel classes for Winter Storm Fern

As Winter Storm Fern continues to bear down on much of Kentucky Sunday, blanketing the state with layers of snow and ice, Fayette County Public Schools canceled in-person classes for all students Monday, Jan. 26.

Instead, district students will have non-traditional instruction from home to start the week. Officials have also canceled after-school activities for the day, and all district buildings will be closed.

Monday’s school board meeting has been canceled and will be rescheduled.

Several other Kentucky school districts have also canceled class for Monday as of 12:30 p.m. Sunday. That includes Bourbon, Boyle, Casey, Madison, Jessamine, Franklin and Scott counties.

This is a developing story.
