Crossways over crosswalks

Please tell me I read that wrong. I was astounded to read that the multi-colored crosswalk in downtown Lexington is in violation of federal standards on how crosswalks are painted.

So there are federal standards regarding how crosswalks are painted but none on the sale of assault weapons? How many deaths can be attributed to the painted crosswalks versus assault weapons? I am at a loss for words on how asinine that is and how ridiculous that makes us look. When did our priorities get so screwed up? I know we have gone downhill since last November and this is another fine example of how low our collective intelligence has sunk.
