The Lexington Herald-Leader revealed the winner of its 43rd annual Kentucky Sports Figure of the Year award on Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2024. The Lexington Herald-Leader and Kentucky.com are proud to announce the winner of the 43rd annual Kentucky Sports Figure of the Year Award this morning.

Watch the video above to see who came out on top in a vote of 130 sports media members from across Kentucky.

The top three finalists for the 2023 award were Transylvania University women’s basketball coach Juli Fulks, Lyon County High School basketball star Travis Perry and former North Laurel High School and current University of Kentucky basketball standout Reed Sheppard.
