‘Excited for the next step.’ Louisville transfer Lindsey Duvall finds a new home.
Lindsey Duvall, one of two Kentucky Miss Basketballs to announce she was transferring from the University of Louisville recently, announced on her Instagram account Wednesday that she will be transferring to Northern Kentucky University.
“Excited for the next step but thankful for the ones that led me here! #NorseUp,” Duvall posted with an altered photo showing her in her new team’s gold and black.
Duvall, a 5-foot-9 guard who won 2017 Miss Basketball honors out of Bullitt East, averaged 23.6 points and 8.3 rebounds as a senior before joining Louisville. An injury forced her to redshirt her freshman season and she will have two years of eligibility remaining after she sits out a year as a traditional transfer to NKU.
Duvall averaged 6.4 minutes per game in a reserve role for the Cardinals each of the last two years. She came to Louisville ranked as the No. 24 overall class of 2017 prospect by ESPN.
Days after entering the transfer portal Louisville’s other Miss Basketball, 2018 winner Seygan Robins out of Mercer County, also announced her plans to transfer. Each in-state player’s Louisville career was hampered by injury. And each faced a tough battle to crack the lineup on a Louisville squad that has consistently been in the top 10 the past several years and has what has been ranked as the No. 3 recruiting class coming in next year.
Northern Kentucky had a 20-12 record this past season and won its first two games in the Horizon League Tournament. It was the team’s first winning record under fourth-year coach Camryn Whitaker.
