Tennessee lands first QB of 2019 in battle with Ohio State and 19 other schools
Tennessee landed its first quarterback commitment for the class of 2019 in three-star prospect Brian Maurer out of Ocala., Fla.
Maurer, a 6-foot-2, 180-pound pro-style QB entering his senior year at West Port High School, announced his decision on Twitter on Wednesday morning.
Maurer, ranks as the No. 18 pro-style QB in the nation and the No. 61 prospect out of Florida, according the 247Sports.com Composite Index. He threw for 2,512 yards and 18 touchdowns along with six rushing TDs his junior year.
He had offers from 20 other schools, including Ohio State, West Virginia, Texas A&M and Boston College.
