May 30, 2008 07:20 AM

Kentucky's Sawyer Carroll was named a first-team Louisville Slugger All-American and Collin Cowgill was named a second-team All-American, Collegiate Baseball announced on Thursday.

Carroll is the Southeastern Conference leader in batting average (.416) and RBI (78), setting the school record for RBI in a season. He has added 16 home runs and 21 doubles and leads the club with three triples. With a .384 career average, Carroll has positioned himself to be UK's career record holder for batting average. Jeff Abbott (1991-94) currently holds the record at .380.
