The University of Kentucky men’s basketball team played High Point University in Rupp Arena on New Year’s Eve. The 18th-ranked Wildcats defeated the Panthers, 92-48, on a day when UK retired a jersey in the honor of former head coach Tubby Smith, who now leads High Point.

Next up for Kentucky (11-2 overall, 1-0 SEC) is a road game against 16th-ranked Louisiana State University (12-1, 0-1) on Tuesday.
