While his senior season so far hasn’t featured the team success that many expected, Oscar Tshiebwe has continued to statistically cement himself as one of the great individual players in Kentucky basketball history.

Another step in that direction came Wednesday night in Starkville, Mississippi, when Tshiebwe became a top-10 rebounder in Kentucky men’s basketball history.

Tshiebwe passed Bob Burrow on the all-time UK rebounding leaderboard during Kentucky’s SEC game at Mississippi State.

Tshiebwe entered the game with 822 career rebounds at UK, and collected his second of the game with 11:02 left in the first half to pass Burrow (823 career rebounds at Kentucky).

Tshiebwe has accomplished his remarkable rebounding feat at Kentucky in less than two seasons in Lexington.

Tshiebwe recorded an 18-point, 11-rebound double-double during UK’s 71-68 win at Mississippi State. This was Tshiebwe’s 15th double-double of the 2022-23 season.

Tshiebwe now has recorded a double-double in 43 of 58 career games for the Wildcats.

Oscar Tshiebwe (34) has more than 800 rebounds in less than two seasons playing for Kentucky.

All-time Kentucky men’s basketball rebounding leaderboard

Only nine men remain ahead of Tshiebwe on the all-time rebounding leaderboard at Kentucky.

While Dan Issel’s mark of 1,078 career rebounds will likely remain out of reach (literally), there’s still plenty of opportunities for Tshiebwe to rise up the leaderboard during the rest of the 2022-23 season.

Here’s where Tshiebwe currently ranks all-time in UK rebounding history:

1. Dan Issel (1968-70)—1,078.

2. Frank Ramsey (1951-52, 54)—1,038.

3. Cliff Hagan (1951-52, 54)—1,035.

4. Johnny Cox (1957-59)—1,004.

5. Cotton Nash (1962-64)—962.

6. Kenny Walker (1983-86)—942.

7. Chuck Hayes (2002-05)—910.

8. Sam Bowie (1980-81, 84)—843.

9. Rick Robey (1975-78)—838.

10. Oscar Tshiebwe (2021-23)—833.
