For the first time since early February, CJ Fredrick will be available to play for Kentucky men’s basketball.

Fredrick has battled a rib injury since UK’s home win over Florida on Feb. 4. Fredrick fought through the pain to play in UK’s home loss to Arkansas on Feb. 7, but he didn’t score and missed all four of his shot attempts in the game.

Fredrick then missed UK’s next four games (UK went 3-1 in that stretch), but he went through all pregame warmups on Saturday afternoon before Kentucky’s home game against Auburn.

On UK’s pregame radio show Saturday afternoon, Kentucky head coach John Calipari said Fredrick practiced Friday and the plan is for Fredrick to play in the game.

Kentucky’s other injured guard, Sahvir Wheeler (right ankle), will again be unavailable for Saturday’s game against Auburn.

Calipari said on the radio show that Wheeler didn’t practice Friday.

Wheeler last played in UK’s home win over Florida on Feb. 4.
