The ‘Oscar Tshiebwe Autograph Experience’ will bring Kentucky basketball star back to Rupp
Oscar Tshiebwe’s time as a Kentucky basketball player is finished, but he’ll be back in Lexington later this month to reconnect with UK fans.
Tshiebwe — the former college basketball player of the year and two-time All-American — will host the “Oscar Tshiebwe Autograph Experience” in Rupp Arena on Aug. 25, organizers announced Friday morning.
Those who participate in the event can bring one item for Tshiebwe to sign, and the registration fee includes an individual photo with the former UK star, a tour of the Kentucky locker room, and an opportunity to take a shot on the Rupp Arena court. There will also be various contests and a “grand prize winner” will receive tickets to an Indiana Pacers game.
The registration fee is $75, and spots are currently available by visiting www.procamps.com/OscarAutographs. The event will run from 6-8 p.m.
Tshiebwe will host a basketball camp for kids in Lexington on Aug. 27 alongside most of the current UK men’s team, though, as of Friday morning, all spots were filled for that event.
The 6-foot-9 center left Kentucky after two seasons earlier this year to enter his name in the NBA Draft. He was not selected with one of the 58 picks in the draft, but he later signed a free-agent deal with the Indiana Pacers.
Tshiebwe led Kentucky in scoring and topped the nation in rebounding in each of the past two seasons. He was college basketball’s national player of the year following the 2021-22 campaign and capped last season with consensus second-team All-America honors.
The Oscar Tshiebwe Autograph Experience is open to individuals of all ages, and there are limited spots available, according to event organizers.
