The University of Kentucky men’s basketball team defeated New Mexico State 86-46 Monday night in its 2023-24 season opener.

The Wildcats made 32 of 65 shots from the field (49.2%), 9 of 29 from 3-point range (31%) and 13 of 19 from the free-throw line (68.4%) during the victory in Rupp Arena.

The Aggies connected on 18 of 56 from the field (32.1%), 5 of 23 3-pointers (21.7%) and 5 of 5 foul shots (100%).
