The 17th-ranked University of Kentucky men’s basketball team was defeated by No. 1 Kansas 89-84 Tuesday night in the Champions Classic at the United Center in Chicago.
The Wildcats made 25 of 76 shots from the field (32.9%), 12 of 38 from 3-point range (31.6%) and 22 of 30 from the free-throw line (73.3%) during the nonconference defeat.
The Jayhawks connected on 28 of 59 from the field (47.5%), 6 of 18 3-pointers (33.3%) and 27 of 36 foul shots (75%).
