The University of Kentucky men’s basketball team played the University of Tennessee in the NCAA Tournament Midwest Regional semifinals at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis on Friday night. The No. 3-seeded Wildcats were defeated by the No. 2-seeded Volunteers 78-65.

Kentucky’s first season under head coach Mark Pope came to an end with a 24-12 record and the Wildcats’ first appearance in the NCAA Sweet 16 since 2019. Tennessee advanced to the NCAA Elite Eight, where it will face No. 1 seed Houston or No. 4 seed Purdue on Sunday.
