See stats from Kentucky basketball’s exhibition 84-70 loss to Georgetown

Numbers don’t tell the whole story of Kentucky basketball’s 84-70 exhibition loss to Georgetown on Thursday.

Still, there were statistics of significance at Rupp Arena.

The Hoyas outscored the Wildcats 38-24 in the paint, in part a product of the Georgetown guards easily getting downhill against the Kentucky defense to create shots for themselves and teammates.

And the Cats struggled against ball pressure to get into their offense and create clean shots, part of the reason they shot 7 for 30 from 3-point range, including 0 for 13 in the second half.

Otega Oweh led Kentucky with 17 points on 4-for-12 shooting. Mouhamed Dioubate, who scored 13 points on 4-for-6 shooting, was the only Wildcat starter to make at least half his shots on a night when UK shot 33.3% from the floor.

The Wildcats finished the exhibition season 1-1, including a win over preseason No. 1 Purdue last Thursday.
