Live updates: Kentucky women’s basketball vs. Miami

The game is scheduled to tip off at 7 p.m.

Kentucky, ranked No. 19 nationally, returns a core group led by seniors Makayla Epps and Evelyn Akhator from a team that finished 25-8 and reached the NCAA Tournament Sweet 16 last season. The Wildcats will also introduce several newcomers Friday night.

Miami, from the Atlantic Coast Conference, finished 24-9 last season. The Hurricanes, a No. 5 seed, were upset by South Dakota State, 74-71, in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.

Kentucky holds a 5-1 edge in the teams’ all-time series. The Wildcats’ won the most recent meeting, 60-57, on Dec. 1, 2001, in Memorial Coliseum. Kentucky assistant coach Lin Dunn spent nine years as head coach at Miami and is a member of the school’s athletics Hall of Fame.
