Jemma Amoore, a transfer guard from IU Indianapolis and the younger sister of former Wildcat Georgia Amoore, has signed with Kentucky women’s basketball ahead of the 2026-27 season, the program announced Wednesday morning.
“I’m excited to add Jemma to our family,” UK coach Kenny Brooks said in a release. “She is no stranger to BBN, and her familiarity to our staff and basketball system will add valuable experience to our talented backcourt. Jemma exemplifies what it means to be a Wildcat!”
Last season with the Jaguars, Amoore averaged 1.7 points, 0.9 rebounds and 0.4 assists in 8.2 minutes over the course of 27 games. She made two starts and was also named to the IU-Indy Academic Advisor’s List.
Kentucky is the third collegiate stop for the 5-foot-4 guard from Ballarat, Victoria, Australia. She started her career at Sacramento State in 2024-25. As a freshman with the Hornets, Amoore averaged 0.5 points, 0.5 rebounds and 0.3 steals in 3.6 minutes per game across 21 contests.
Amoore brought with her a bevy of basketball experience when she came to the United States for college in 2024; she played with semipro team Ballarat Miners’ junior and senior clubs and played for Victoria State in the Australian Junior Championships from 2021-23, named captain in both 2022 and 2023.
Amoore graduated from all-girls secondary school Loreto College Ballarat in 2023.
Kentucky signs Me’Arah O’Neal
Former Florida forward Me’Arah O’Neal has officially signed with Kentucky, the school announced Wednesday. O’Neal, daughter of Naismith Hall of Famer Shaquille O’Neal, committed to UK out of the transfer portal in April.
O’Neal averaged 13.6 points, 6.4 rebounds and 1.4 blocks per game last season for the Gators.
“We are thrilled to announce the addition of Me’Arah to our team,” Brooks said in a release. “Meezy is a talented forward with guard skills, and she will fit into our system very nicely. Her SEC experience will also be beneficial for us as we embark on a challenging season. She comes from a basketball family, and we are looking forward to her arrival to BBN.”
