Kentucky news, notes and newcomers’ numbers from opening of SEC Media Days
The Kentucky football media guide is out for Southeastern Conference Media Days.
While it has 251 jam-packed pages, those pages do not contain any kind of depth chart this season. So you’re left with my best guess at one for Kentucky until perhaps the Monday of the season opener.
Here are a few other tidbits from the guide:
Freshman names and numbers dot the new roster, but freshman linebacker Ashtan Pierre is not listed. A UK spokesman said Mark Stoops will discuss it when he meets with the local media later Monday.
One quick name change of note is the freshman wide receiver known as Marvin Alexander is now listed as B.J. Alexander.
Kentucky is bringing three players to this year’s event, which is being held at the College Football Hall of Fame.
Those players are linebacker Josh Allen, running back Benny Snell and tight end C.J. Conrad.
Stoops is in the main media room at 2 p.m. with players available around 3:35 p.m. or so.
Here’s a list of the newcomers’ numbers: punter Chance Poore (12); wide receivers Ahmad Wagner (14), Akeem Hayes (19), Allen Dailey (86), Bryce Oliver (85), B.J. Alexander (84); running backs Kavosiey Smoke (20) and Chris Rodriguez (24); linebacker Chris Oats (22); offensive linemen Nick Lewis (78), Kenneth Horsey (68); defensive linemen Jequavion Mahone (93), Davoan Hawkins (55); defensive backs Jamari Brown (32), Stanley Garner (37); tight ends Keaton Upshaw (88), Brenden Bates (80); quarterback Terry Wilson (3) and punter Max Duffy (93).
