Live updates: Kentucky football’s early signing period opens for class of 2022

Kentucky headed into Wednesday with commitments from 18 players for the class of 2022 and expected to sign many of those on the first day of college football’s early signing period, which runs from Dec. 15-17. The Wildcats also expected to make official at least one transfer.
Players also have the option of signing during the regular period from Feb. 2 through April 1.

UK finished the 2021 regular season with a 9-3 record and is making preparations to play in the VRBO Citrus Bowl against Iowa on New Year’s Day in Orlando, Fla., while also assembling its 2022 recruiting class.
Kentucky head coach Mark Stoops and recruiting coordinator Vince Marrow were originally scheduled to address the media in a Wednesday afternoon news conference to discuss the 2022 signing class but that has now been moved to Thursday.
