The University of Kentucky football team defeated the Akron Zips 35-3 at Kroger Field in Lexington on Saturday night in a nonconference game.

The Wildcats are now 3-0 overall and 0-0 in the Southeastern Conference. Akron is 1-2 overall and 0-0 in the Mid-American Conference.

Kentucky returns to action at noon Saturday, Sept. 23 (SEC Network) when it visits the Vanderbilt Commodores in Nashville.
