Kentucky football’s blowout loss at Georgia was not enough to knock the Wildcats out of the top 25 Sunday.
After a 51-13 loss at No. 1 Georgia, Kentucky dropped from No. 20 in both polls last week to No. 24 in the Associated Press Top 25 and No. 23 in the USA Today Coaches Poll. Kentucky entered the top 25 for the first time last week after a dominant win over a ranked Florida team. Apparently, that performance was enough to earn the benefit of the doubt from voters even after the embarrassing showing in Athens.
The Wildcats return to action next week against Missouri, which is ranked 25th in the coaches poll and the top team in the “others receiving votes” category of the Associated Press Top 25 after suffering its first loss of the season to LSU on Saturday. Kentucky still has games remaining against No. 19 Tennessee, No. 11 Alabama and No. 14 Louisville.
Caesars Sportsbook has established Kentucky as 2.5-point favorite versus Missouri.
