The University of Kentucky football team was defeated by the University of South Carolina Gamecocks 31-6 at Kroger Field in Lexington on Saturday in the 2024 Southeastern Conference opener for both teams.

The Wildcats are now 1-1 overall and 0-1 in the SEC. South Carolina is 2-0 overall and 1-0.

Kentucky returns to action Saturday, Sept. 14, at 7:30 p.m. (ABC) when it hosts the No. 1-ranked Georgia Bulldogs (2-0, 0-0) in Lexington.
