Texas football’s first game at Kentucky set for October as part of 2025 UK schedule
Texas football fans traveling to Lexington for the Longhorns’ first game at Kentucky in program history next season will get to experience the UK football/Keeneland doubleheader.
The Wildcats will host Texas for the first meeting in Lexington between the two schools on Oct. 18, the SEC announced Wednesday. The league had previously revealed teams will play their same eight conference opponents from the 2024 season in 2025 in the opposite venues, but Wednesday’s schedule reveal included dates for the games for the first time.
The SEC has yet to settle on a permanent schedule format after abandoning divisions with the addition of Texas and Oklahoma to the league this season.
Kentucky opens SEC play in Week 2 against Ole Miss at home. It has back-to-back road trips at South Carolina and Georgia sandwiched between the two off weeks on the schedule on Sept. 20 and Oct. 11. UK will host Florida in November for the first time since 1990.
