Kentucky football numbers of note
Drive time: Tennessee Tech entered the game averaging 45.2 points per game, tops in FCS. Saturday was a step up in competition, but the Golden Eagles are accustomed to offense. It was a struggle to find against the Cats, who limited Tennessee Tech to 25 yards per drive. The Golden Eagles averaged 2:35 of possession per drive, and though they mounted drives of 10 and 11 plays, neither resulted in a touchdown.
Boley ball: Kentucky quarterback Cutter Boley completed 18 of 21 passes for 236 yards and a touchdown with no interceptions. That 86% completion percentage was Boley’s season high, topping the 31 of 39 (79.5%) he completed against Texas. Boley connected on three passes of 20 or more yards, and his average yards per attempt of 11.2 was his third-highest number this season.
Law & order: UK senior wide receiver Kendrick Law set career highs for single-game receptions (11) and yards (124). The 11 receptions were more than he tallied in two of his seasons at Alabama. Law had eight catches as a Crimson Tide freshman and 10 as a junior. Law hauled in 10 receptions in his sophomore year. Law’s 124 receiving yards Saturday were more than he recorded in any single season at Alabama. Law has 519 receiving yards in his one season as a Wildcat after totaling 343 with the Tide.
