UK's Sanders hurts knee; father says he's likely to miss U of L game
Running back Raymond Sanders is not expected to play for Kentucky in the game against Louisville on Saturday, his father said Wednesday night.
His father, also named Raymond Sanders, said his son "tweaked a knee" and would miss the U of L game and possibly additional games.
"He's upbeat and everything," the elder Sanders said. "He's OK."
Sanders, a sophomore from Stone Mountain, Ga., started the first two games and was UK's second-leading rusher. He's gained 97 yards on 21 carries. He was the Cats' leading returning rusher, having gained 254 yards on 68 carries last season.
UK spokesman Tony Neely said Coach Joker Phillips would address any injury issues when he meets with reporters on Thursday.
