Skyy Clark ready to return to the basketball court, just six months after ACL surgery
Kentucky signee Skyy Clark will make his return to the basketball court more quickly than expected.
Clark, who underwent surgery for a torn ACL in late July, is set to make his high school season debut Thursday, his father told the Herald-Leader on Wednesday night. It was originally feared that Clark might miss his entire senior season when he suffered the knee injury over the summer.
The five-star point guard will be on the court for Montverde (Fla.) Academy in a matchup with Sunrise Christian (Kan.) at 5 p.m. Thursday. The game will be televised live on ESPNU. Montverde also has games at 5 p.m. Friday and 7 p.m. Saturday that will be streamed live on ESPN Plus.
Clark, who grew up in Los Angeles, transferred to Montverde Academy, the defending national champions, during the offseason after playing his junior year in the Nashville area. He originally committed to Kentucky in October 2020 — making him UK’s first commitment for the 2022 class — and officially signed with the Wildcats in November.
Viewed as one of the best playmakers and perimeter scorers in the 2022 class, Clark is the No. 16 high school senior in the country, according to the 247Sports composite rankings.
Fellow UK signee Chris Livingston will also have three games on ESPN programming this week, starting with a 1 p.m. game Thursday on ESPNU.
