More Kentucky basketball recruiting links: Who will be the new No. 1 player for 2022?
With Shaedon Sharpe moving to the recruiting class of 2021, who will be the new No. 1 for 2022?
247Sports already shuffled its list several weeks ago, when Sharpe made it clear he would enroll in classes at UK this month. That site moved Sharpe to the No. 3 spot in the 2021 class and installed Duke signee Dereck Lively III as the No. 1 player for 2022.
Rivals.com looks like the next recruiting site that will shuffle its rankings, and two of its top analysts debated who should get that top spot in a new post Monday. Both analysts went with a Duke signee, but neither picked Lively. Rob Cassidy sided with Dariq Whitehead, while Jamie Shaw picked Kyle Filipowski, meaning that not only does Duke have the nation’s No. 1 recruiting class, but the Blue Devils appear to have three different players capable of claiming the top ranking for the 2022 class.
This is a debate that will surely rage in recruiting circles over the next several months.
