More Kentucky basketball recruiting links: Calipari shows up to watch Reed Sheppard again
UK Coach John Calipari was back at Lexington Catholic on Tuesday night to see Reed Sheppard, and this time he brought Kentucky assistant coach Orlando Antigua and several Wildcats players.
Calipari watched Sheppard, who is the Cats’ first commitment for the 2023 class, for the second time in three days at LexCath’s annual Christmas week tournament. In Tuesday’s game, Sheppard went for 25 points, 10 rebounds and six assists, though his North Laurel team suffered a 77-64 loss to Clark County.
Sheppard, who scored 50 points in Monday night’s victory, finished off the tournament with an 81-78 victory over Lexington Catholic in the third-place game Wednesday night. He had 25 points, eight assists, four rebounds, four steals and three blocks in that game. Sheppard was 4-for-7 from three-point range.
