Kentucky adding another 2023 star to its list? And the top UK basketball recruiting links.
Indianapolis basketball standout Xavier Booker is one of the fastest-rising players in the 2023 class, and the Kentucky Wildcats appear to be taking a greater interest in his recruitment.
Booker — a 6-foot-10 power forward — told Pro Insight this week that UK is now one of the schools he’s hearing from the most. The rising senior also said that — until this recent contact — Kentucky had been the only program he was hoping to hear from more as his recruitment picked up. That’s a good sign for the Wildcats, who look like they’ll be jumping into one of the hottest pursuits in the country.
Last week, 247Sports moved Booker from No. 91 in its 2023 rankings all the way to No. 4 nationally, behind only North Carolina commitment GG Jackson and UK targets DJ Wagner and Justin Edwards. In May alone, Booker picked up new scholarship offers from Duke, Texas and Kansas. Michigan State extended an offer earlier in the process, and the Spartans, who hosted Booker for an official visit in April, are viewed as one of the possible favorites.
