The Nike EYBL stop was in Louisville over the weekend, and one of the star recruits on the basketball court was Justin Edwards, a longtime Kentucky Wildcats target.
UK was viewed as a possible favorite for Edwards — a 6-foot-7 wing from Philadelphia — not that long ago, but Tennessee has established itself as a real threat to land his commitment. On3.com national analyst Jamie Shaw logged a pro-Tennessee prediction for Edwards on Saturday night, joining a few other recruiting experts who have made picks in favor of the Vols in recent weeks.
Kentucky is still a top contender for Edwards’ commitment, however, and he remains one of the Wildcats’ top recruiting priorities in the 2023 class. 247Sports moved him up to the No. 3 overall spot in that group in its rankings update last week.
