Coaches name All-11th Region boys’ basketball team
Madison Central’s Will Hardin and Great Crossing Coach Steve Page took top honors as coaches from the 11th Region announced their All-11th Region Boys’ Basketball Team and player and coach of the year on Friday.
Hardin, a 6-foot-4 senior guard, took player of the year honors by gathering the most points in the all-region voting. Already a region player of the year as voted by the Kentucky Association of Basketball Coaches last week, the Mr. Basketball nominee has averaged 19.7 points and 9.2 rebounds per game for the Indians while shooting 43.4 percent from three-point range.
Page is in his third season building the Great Crossing program after the school’s founding in 2019 via a split of Scott County High School’s enrollment. The Warhawks are 25-6 this season, the program’s first winning season, and they were to face Western Hills for the 41st District Tournament championship on Friday night.
The all-region honorees will be recognized between games at next week’s semifinals of the boys’ 11th Region Tournament at Eastern Kentucky University’s McBrayer Arena on March 4.
