2024 battle of the bands: Vote for the best big high school marching band in Kentucky

Marching band championship season is upon us.

From afternoon practices to Friday night lights, high school marching bands all over Kentucky have worked hard to bring top-tier performances to their communities. Now that October is finally here, these competing bands will soon have the opportunity to demonstrate their chemistry and skills at the upcoming Kentucky Music Educators Association State Marching Band Championships later this month. The finals will take place at the University of Louisville’s L&N Federal Credit Union Stadium on Oct. 26.

And, just like last year, we’re asking you to vote for Kentucky’s best marching band.

After the 2023 marching band poll received more than 1.1 million votes, we’ve decided to split this year’s poll into two — one for 1A, 2A and 3A marching bands, and one for 4A and 5A bands. Each winning band will be featured in future stories, like last year’s winner Lee County.

Voting ends Tuesday, Oct. 8 at noon. This is not a scientific poll and you can vote as many times as you’d like. To vote more than once, refresh this page.

This poll is meant to be a celebration of Kentucky’s high school marching bands ahead of official KMEA competition later this month. The Herald-Leader asks all participants to refrain from utilizing bots or other forms of automated assistance in order to gain an advantage.
