Check out the top players who could be Kentucky’s 2024 Mr. Football

Each year, the Kentucky Football Coaches Association recognizes an outstanding senior as its “Mr. Football.”

The list is exclusive. Past winners include the likes of Covington Catholic’s Michael Meyer (now with the Las Vegas Raiders), Western Hills’ Wan’Dale Robinson (New York Giants) and Boone County’s Shaun Alexander (an NFL MVP for the Seattle Seahawks).

Who will win this year’s award? There are a number of outstanding candidates — some who come to mind immediately. Then there are others who will probably need to make a splash over the last few weeks of the postseason to get on the voters’ radar.

The award has been chosen exclusively by coaches in the KFCA since 2022.

While KFCA member coaches will have the final say, the Herald-Leader has set up a fan poll online so you can vote for your favorite and let your voice be heard.

Below is the Herald-Leader’s estimation of the most likely candidates for the award with the front runners and long shots each listed in alphabetical order. Remember, only seniors are eligible for the award.
