The Lexington Herald-Leader and Kentucky.com present the 2026 All-City Softball Team and Player of the Year as voted on by the eight high school coaches of Lexington’s varsity KHSAA programs.

Bryan Station senior pitcher Karsyn Rockvoan earned All-City Player of the Year honors for the third consecutive season. She shared the award with Lexington Catholic’s Abby Hammond as a sophomore and held it outright as a junior.

This season, the Northwest Florida State College signee helped lead the Defenders to their second 42nd District title in three years and their first appearances in the 11th Region Tournament semis and final.

Rockvoan rang up a career-high 301 strikeouts in 2026 with a 13-11 record and a 2.18 earned run average. For her six-year varsity career, she totaled 1,331 strikeouts, a record for Bryan Station and among the top 15 all-time in KHSAA history.

Rockvoan earned six top player nods from the city’s coaches. Frederick Douglass’ Haley McGuire and Henry Clay’s Ella Smith each got one top player vote and joined Rockvoan on the first team.

Rounding out the first team were Lafayette’s Anna Clay Denton, Brynna Harris and McKenzie Harney; Frederick Douglass’ Jarynn Bowman and Emma Dunn; and Tates Creek’s Alexis Bazzell and Alexis Sempsrott.

Lexington’s eight varsity softball coaches were asked to nominate players for All-City consideration. Later, the coaches ranked, one through 10, their top players from that list of nominees. Coaches are not permitted to vote for their own players on the final ballot.

Selections were made regardless of position, and each team was limited to a maximum of five All-City honorees. Point values were assigned to each voting position (10 points for first-place votes, nine points for second-place votes, etc.), and the accumulation of those points was used to create the first and second teams, each composed of 10 players.
