Here are the 2026 Lexington All-City baseball teams and player of the year

The Lexington Herald-Leader and Kentucky.com present the 2026 All-City Baseball Team and Player of the Year as voted on by the nine high school coaches of Lexington’s varsity KHSAA programs.

Henry Clay’s JT Ritchie earned All-City Player of the Year honors as the top vote getter on the First Team with five player of the year nods. Among the other first-team players, Lexington Christian’s Sam Pearson received two top player votes, while Lexington Catholic’s Brady Wasik and Sayre’s Gary Gibson each had one.

Ritchie, a senior right-handed pitcher and infielder committed to Frontier Community College in Fairfield, Illinois, helped lead the Blue Devils to the 42nd District championship. On the mound, Ritchie went 6-1 with a 1.65 earned run average. At the plate, he led the team with 43 hits and a .347 average while scoring 35 runs with 28 RBI and two homers.

Rounding out the first team were Sayre’s Banks Heinrich, Henry Clay’s Turner Sparks, Lexington Catholic’s Eamon Hughes, Lafayette’s Jacob Carpenter, Frederick Douglass’ Gabe Wright and Lexington Christian’s Joseph Seigler.

Lexington’s nine varsity baseball coaches were asked to nominate players for All-City consideration. Later, the coaches ranked, one through 10, their top players from that list of nominees. Coaches are not permitted to vote for their own players on the final ballot.

Selections were made regardless of position and each team was limited to a maximum of five All-City honorees. Point values were assigned to each voting position (10 points for first-place votes, nine points for second-place votes, etc.) and the accumulation of those points was used to create the First and Second Teams of 10 and 11 players, respectively. The Second Team had a tie that resulted in an extra player.
