Is this John Calipari’s best shooting team at Kentucky? Here’s what the numbers say.
Kentucky shot 52.5 percent from the floor in its 78-66 win over the Vanderbilt Commodores on Tuesday night at Memorial Gym in Nashville.
That’s the eighth time in 16 games this season that John Calipari’s club has shot 50 percent or better. Not to bring up the sore subject that was last season, but the 2020-21 edition shot 50 percent or better just twice in its 25 games.
Overall, the current Wildcats are shooting 49.6 percent from the floor. So where does that rank among Calipari’s 13 teams at UK? As it stands now, it ranks right at the top.

Now here’s a look at the shooting percentages for the Cats in their 16 games this season on the way to a 13-3 mark overall, including 3-1 in the SEC.
It should be noted that Oscar Tshiebwe is currently shooting 62.7 percent from the floor. UK’s center has made 111 of his 177 shots.
TyTy Washington is shooting 49.7 percent. Kellan Grady is shooting 47.4. Keion Brooks is at 50.4. And Jacob Toppin is at 51.9.
