Kentucky men’s basketball returns to the road Saturday when the Wildcats play the Vanderbilt Commodores in an SEC matchup at Memorial Gymnasium in Nashville. Tipoff is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. EST. Karl Ravech and Jimmy Dykes have the television broadcast on ESPN.

Scouting report: Vanderbilt
Under new coach Mark Byington, Vanderbilt is 15-4 overall and 3-3 in the SEC. The Commodores are coming off a 103-87 loss at Alabama on Tuesday night. They are 47th in KenPom’s adjusted overall efficiency rankings. The ‘Dores are 39th in adjusted offensive efficiency and 72nd in adjusted defensive efficiency.
Much like Kentucky, Vandy takes care of the basketball. The Commodores are 16th in turnover percentage at 14.3. Unlike UK, Vandy does a good job forcing turnovers. The Commodores also rank 16th in defensive turnover percentage at 22.3.
North Texas transfer Jason Edwards leads Vanderbilt in scoring at 17.3 points per game. Boston College transfer Devin McGlockton leads Vanderbilt in rebounding at 8.2 per game. And Michigan State transfer AJ Hoggard leads Vanderbilt in assists at 4.4 per game.

Scouting report: Kentucky
Under new coach Mark Pope, Kentucky is 14-4 overall and 3-2 in the SEC. The Wildcats are also coming off a loss to Alabama, falling 102-97 to the Crimson Tide last Sunday. Kentucky is 19th in KenPom’s adjusted efficiency rankings. The Cats are No. 3 in adjusted offensive efficiency and No. 80 in adjusted defensive efficiency.
UK leads the SEC in made 3-pointers in SEC competition, averaging 11.2 per game. The Wildcats rank 47th nationally in 3-point percentage at 36.7. They are 11th in 3-point defense, holding opponents to 28.6% from beyond the arc.
Oklahoma transfer Otega Oweh leads Kentucky in scoring at 15.7 points per game. Drexel transfer Amari Williams leads Kentucky in rebounding at 8.8 per game. San Diego State transfer Lamont Butler leads Kentucky in assists at 4.9 per game.
