After losing to Vanderbilt 74-69 on Jan. 25 in Nashville, Kentucky tries to even the series when the Wildcats take on the Commodores on Wednesday at Rupp Arena. The SEC Network will televise the game, starting at 7 p.m.

Scouting report: Vanderbilt
Vanderbilt is 17-8 overall, including 5-7 in the SEC, after an 81-76 loss at Tennessee last Saturday. The Commodores led by 16 in the first half and 13 at halftime (44-31) before giving way in the second half. Vandy is ranked No. 42 in KenPom’s adjusted overall efficiency rankings — No. 26 in adjusted offensive efficiency and 79th in adjusted defensive efficiency.
Coach Mark Byington’s Commodores forced 17 Kentucky turnovers in that January win over UK at Memorial Gym. Vandy ranks 20th nationally in defensive turnover percentage.
Jason Edwards led the ‘Dores with 18 points in the win. The transfer from North Texas is averaging 17.6 points per game. He scored 24 points in the loss at Tennessee, 22 points vs. Oklahoma, 21 points at Alabama and 20 points at Florida.

Scouting report: Kentucky
Coach Mark Pope’s Wildcats are 17-8 overall, including 6-6 in the SEC, after last Saturday’s 82-78 loss at Texas. The Cats are 18th in KenPom’s adjusted overall efficiency rankings; fourth in adjusted offensive efficiency and 76th in adjusted defensive efficiency.
Kentucky shot 37.9% from the floor in the first game against Vanderbilt. It’s the only SEC game this season in which the Cats failed to shoot at least 40%. UK was also 9-for-23 from 3-point range in that first game.
Otega Oweh led UK with 21 points that afternoon in Nashville. The Oklahoma transfer is one of only 10 players in Division I who has scored double figures in every game this season. Check out Cameron Drummond’s feature here.
