College basketball on television: ESPN has Kentucky-South Carolina at noon
Tom Hart will be on play-by-play with Kara Lawson on color commentary and Kaylee Hartung handling sideline duties when ESPN telecasts the Kentucky-South Carolina game from Columbia’s Colonial Life Arena on Saturday at noon.
The Cats and Gamecocks are two of a three-way tie for first place in the SEC. UK and USC are both 8-3 in league play. Kentucky whipped Georgia 82-48 on Tuesday. South Carolina held off visiting LSU 94-83 on Wednesday.
LSU is the other SEC team tied for the first. The Tigers take their 8-3 record back to Baton Rouge for a 1 p.m. CBS matchup with Texas A&M. The visiting Aggies are 7-4 in league play, but have lost three straight conference games. Billy Kennedy’s team was upset at Alabama 63-62 on Tuesday.
Florida is tied with Texas A&M at 7-4. The Gators play host to Alabama at 5:30 on the SEC Network. Florida is a perfect 6-0 at home in league play and also owns an 88-71 win over West Virginia at the O’Connell Center in the SEC/Big 12 Challenge.
Speaking of the Big 12, Saturday also features a rematch of what people believe was the game of the year (to date). Kansas travels to Oklahoma for a 2:30 p.m. game on ESPN. In their first meeting, the Jayhawks needed three overtimes to beat Oklahoma 109-106 in Lawrence back on Jan. 4.
