Summer Movie Preview: Warm up the popper
2008 box office returns have been dismal, but five weekends might be able to pump up the receipts
By Roger Moore The Orlando Sentinel

'Lilly's Purple Plastic Purse': life lessons and a lot of fun
I've seen a lot of shows about a lot of things, but a show about quality, enchanted handbags owned by mice who like to pretend they are royalty is a new one.
'Speed Racer': Bright, fun, mildly edgy
”Here he comes, here comes Speed Racer. He's a demon on wheels.“ Well, a PG-rated demon, anyway. The Wachowski brothers dived into the Chocolate Factory for this hunk of eye candy. It just takes too long to get us to the checkered flag.

CKYO Mother's Day concert
The Central Kentucky Youth Orchestras are celebrating their 60th anniversary this weekend. For this momentous occasion, CKYO is throwing a gala at Keeneland Race Course, and on Mother's Day, a concert at the University of Kentucky Singletary Center for the Arts.
