Read AG’s opinion that led Lexington to remove Confederate statues
Kentucky Attorney General Andy Beshear ruled Tuesday that the city’s two Confederate statues were improperly registered with the Kentucky Military Heritage Commission because the Urban County Council never approved it.
That opinion allowed Lexington to begin the immediate and surprise removal of the controversial statues downtown.
