One of country’s biggest acts is coming back to Rupp Arena after almost 15 years

Four-time Grammy winner Keith Urban is launching a North American tour after nearly two years of pandemic pause and he’s bringing it to Rupp Arena.

Live Nation announced that the country music star will be in Lexington for a concert on Oct. 6, 2022. Tickets will go on sale 10 a.m. Dec. 10 at Ticketmaster.com. Go to rupparena.com for more information.

This will be the first time Urban plays Rupp Arena since 2008, when he appeared with Carrie Underwood.

In North America, Urban’s The Speed of Now World Tour also will include Grammy nominee Ingrid Andress, according to the announcement.

“Every night is the first time we’ve played these songs for that audience, in that moment,” Urban said in the release “It’s why every show is different – spontaneous and unpredictable – even for us!”

He added, “After two years we’re finally gonna get the chance to play some of the new songs we haven’t done live before. We’ll throw in a bunch of the songs that everyone comes to hear, a couple of which we’ll rework a bit, and it’s really gonna be tough to get us off the stage.”
