Winchester, Nicholasville getting fast food chain additions

New fast-food restaurants are coming to two cities in Central Kentucky.

Winchester is getting a new chain: Cook Out will be opening at 100 Hospital Dr.

The 3,800-square-foot spot formerly was a Bojangles but the location closed.

Cook Out, which offers hamburgers, barbecue and milkshakes, is expected to open before the end of the year, according to NAI Isaac, which brokered the lease for the new restaurant.

This will be the ninth Cook Out in Kentucky and the first in Winchester.

In Nicholasville, Taco Bell is planning to build a second location. The new restaurant will be at 116 Hendren Way if the city’s planning commission gives approval. A vote is scheduled for Sept. 28.

The proposed Taco Bell would be 2,500-square-foot restaurant next to an existing McDonald’s.

The news follows several fast-food expansions in Lexington, including a proposed eighth Chick-fil-A for the north side, and Tudor’s Biscuit World on East New Circle Road.
