New Thai: Georgetown restaurant opens second location on Winchester in Lexington
A new Thai restaurant has opened on Winchester Road in a familiar location.
The new restaurant opened at 911 Winchester Rd. in the spot where Jasmine Rice Thai & Vietnamese Cuisine closed at the end of August after owner Nipaporn “Kukie” Ruadrew sold her restaurant after 14 years.
Now Sarayuth “Paul” Sanaajhan, owner of Georgetown-based Thai House, has opened a second location in Lexington on Nov. 21.
“I just love to cook and I’m happy to be here,” he said via text.
The restaurants have the same menu of Thai favorites such as Pad Thai, Drunken Noodles, Pad Kapow, fried rice, curries, noodle soups and more.
At a recent visit, the Lexington location’s service and food were excellent. Don’t be put off by the spare appearance; at the moment the restaurant is plain-looking but the food more than makes up for that.
Open for lunch and dinner daily. Dine in and carryout are available.
And in case you miss Kukie, she said she may be bringing her Jasmine Rice Thai food truck to events and festivals around Lexington, hopes to launch cooking classes and may even get into selling home-grown Thai vegetables at the farmers market.
